General
Message & Method is designed primarily for professionals who speak as part of their work—or who want stronger speaking skills to support leadership, influence, visibility, and advancement. It is also valuable for educators, entrepreneurs, advocates, and others who regularly communicate with groups.
No. There are no prerequisites. Newer speakers can build a complete foundation, while experienced speakers can identify blind spots, refine established habits, and add more deliberate systems to the way they prepare and speak.
Many programs begin with visible performance techniques: eye contact, gestures, posture, vocal variety, and stage presence. Message & Method teaches delivery, but places it inside a larger system. You will work on the speaker’s internal experience, audience understanding, content design, preparation, delivery, and self-evaluation—then apply those ideas through speaking tasks, assessments, workbooks, and interactive tools.
No. The program applies to speeches and presentations, but also to meetings, pitches, training sessions, panels, interviews, virtual presentations, leadership communication, and other situations in which one person needs to hold attention and create a meaningful outcome.
Yes. It includes the complete curriculum, workbooks, tools, assessments, speaking tasks, decks, and Content Mastery Playbook. No essential lessons or resources are withheld. Guided Cohorts and Private Coaching use the same core curriculum and add live feedback, accountability, and customization.
The recommended Learning Plan is designed to take approximately 60 days, including planned break days. You may move faster, slow down, pause, or revise the plan to fit your schedule. Your course access lasts 12 months, so you have room to practice and revisit the material.
Results vary with participation, practice, prior experience, and willingness to apply what you learn. Message & Method cannot promise a particular career, financial, or personal outcome. Learners who complete the program thoughtfully should develop a more deliberate approach to confidence, audiences, content, preparation, delivery, and continued improvement.
You may review the instructional material without recording, but video recording is a required part of every speaking task. The program is designed around a cycle of preparation, speaking, recording, review, and reflection. Completing and retaining those recordings is also required if you later seek a refund under the 90-Day Completion-Based Refund Policy.
Personal feedback from Peter is included in Guided Cohorts and Private Coaching. The Self-Directed Program includes Peter’s complete instruction, structured self-review, reflection prompts, and guidance for gathering useful peer feedback, but it does not include individual review or live coaching.
Your enrollment includes 12 months of access beginning when your course access is activated. It is a one-time purchase, not an automatically renewing subscription. Before access ends, you may export the eligible work you created in the program.
The Self-Directed Program includes a 90-Day Completion-Based Refund Policy for qualifying learners who complete the program as required, document sustained participation, submit their speaking-task recordings, and attest that they experienced no meaningful improvement. It is not a change-of-mind guarantee. Guided Cohort and Private Coaching purchases are governed by separate, non-refundable terms except where stated otherwise or required by law.
Access & Support
Access normally begins when enrollment is completed and the course account is activated. Unless a specific offer says otherwise, it continues for 12 months. A delayed cohort start does not automatically delay platform access or extend its end date unless that is stated in the cohort offer.
No. Enrollment and account access are licensed to one named individual. You are responsible for protecting your credentials and for activity under your account. Contact support promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may retry the payment method, request an updated method, and suspend access while an overdue amount remains unpaid. Suspension does not cancel the purchase obligation or extend the access period. Any applicable fee or collection cost will be governed by the enrollment terms and applicable law.
The program may be updated, improved, reorganized, or replaced over time. Specific tools, layouts, lessons, or features may change. During your active term, you will receive access to the then-current program substantially consistent with the offer you purchased. If a material feature is removed, Message & Method may provide a reasonably comparable substitute.
Brief maintenance, internet failures, and temporary outages do not normally extend access. If a material platform outage prevents use for a sustained period, Message & Method may provide an appropriate extension or other remedy based on the circumstances.
Technical support includes reasonable help with account access, enrollment records, platform errors, and use of course features. It does not include device repair, internet service, support for unrelated third-party software, individual coaching, or review of speaking work unless that service is part of a Guided Cohort or Private Coaching engagement.
Support requests may be sent to [email protected]. Responses are ordinarily provided within two business days, although complex issues, weekends, holidays, outages, or matters involving a service provider may take longer.
Accessibility & Eligibility
Enrollment is limited to adults age 18 or older. Message & Method does not currently offer a minor-enrollment pathway.
The initial commercial offering is intended for customers in the United States. Do not enroll from another country unless the applicable offer expressly confirms availability in your location.
Yes. Contact [email protected] if you encounter an access barrier or need an alternative way to access specific material. Describe the content or feature involved and the barrier you encountered, and we will work with you to identify a reasonable and practical solution.
Available alternatives depend on the material, need, technology, and circumstances. Message & Method does not promise that every format, feature, or requested modification will be available.
Privacy & Content
You retain ownership of your original speeches, scripts, recordings, journal entries, and other content you create. You grant Message & Method the limited permission needed to host, process, display, back up, and transmit that content in order to operate the program and provide support. The curriculum, templates, methods, interface, and course materials remain protected property of their respective owners.
Yes. You may apply what you learn to prepare and deliver your own presentations, and you may retain and use authorized exports you create. Enrollment does not grant the right to reproduce the curriculum, distribute blank tools or templates, train others from the materials, build a competing product from them, or use Message & Method branding without permission.
Only if you are authorized to do so and the information is appropriate for the system. Do not upload trade secrets, protected health information, payment-card data, government identifiers, export-controlled material, or third-party confidential information unless a written agreement and the platform’s safeguards expressly permit it.
Personal information is used to process enrollment, provide and secure the program, support users, communicate about the service, maintain records, and meet legal obligations. The Privacy Policy provides more detail about the information collected, service providers, retention practices, available choices, and how to make a privacy request.
Not merely because you enrolled or joined a recorded session. Public, promotional, or testimonial use requires separate permission that explains the intended use. Declining marketing permission does not affect ordinary participation.
Eligible user-created materials may be exportable through the tools provided. Privacy requests and account-deletion consequences are handled under the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Deleting an account may remove access and saved work but does not automatically cancel unpaid purchase obligations.
Refunds & Cancellations
Message & Method offers a 90-Day Completion-Based Refund Policy for learners who complete the Self-Directed Program as required, maintain accurate course completion records across at least eight separate calendar weeks, complete no more than 25% of required course items during the final 14 days, submit the required speaking-task recordings, and attest that they experienced no meaningful improvement. Approved refunds are reduced by a 15% refund-processing deduction. This is not a change-of-mind guarantee; the complete rules appear in the Refund Policy.
No. The completion-based policy is not a trial period or general satisfaction guarantee. Deciding that the program is not for you, stopping participation, or choosing not to complete the required work does not qualify. The policy exists for learners who complete the full program with documented, sustained participation and genuinely experience no meaningful improvement.
No. Guided Cohort purchases are non-refundable except where the applicable offer expressly states otherwise, Message & Method cancels the offering, or applicable law requires a refund. Cohorts reserve limited live capacity and are governed by separate scheduling and cancellation terms.
No. Private Coaching purchases are non-refundable except where the signed coaching agreement expressly states otherwise or applicable law requires a refund. The coaching agreement separately addresses scheduling, missed sessions, work already performed, and services reserved for the client.
Self-Directed Program
The Self-Directed Program includes the complete Message & Method curriculum; video and written lessons; digital workbooks; the Learning Plan; assessments; guided speaking tasks and reflection; the Pattern Interrupts Deck; the Challenge Deck; the Content Mastery Playbook; and the interactive planning, writing, practice, and self-evaluation tools available in the course platform.
No essential curriculum, lesson, workbook, or program tool is withheld. Guided Cohorts and Private Coaching add live interaction: personal feedback, coaching, accountability, group practice, and—in Private Coaching—customization around your specific goals.
You may begin as soon as your enrollment is complete and your access is activated. You do not need to wait for a start date or move through the program with a group.
The recommended Learning Plan spans approximately 60 days and normally schedules learning on three or four days each week. Some lessons are brief; speaking tasks, recording, revision, and reflection take longer. You may revise the schedule, pause, or move at a different pace. Following the recommended plan is encouraged, not required.
No, although audience practice is strongly recommended. The program explains how to complete speaking tasks independently using video and structured self-review, and how to request useful feedback from other people. Even one or two trusted peers who will respond honestly can add substantial value.
The program is cumulative, so the recommended sequence is the best route for a first pass. The platform does not force progression, however, and you may revisit material or adapt your Learning Plan. If you skip foundational work, later exercises may be less useful.
No. The Self-Directed Program does not include individual review, live office hours, or direct coaching from Peter. It does include structured self-assessment, guided reflection, and methods for requesting peer feedback. Platform support is available for technical and access issues.
You need a current web browser and a reliable internet connection. A laptop, desktop computer, or tablet is strongly recommended because some tools and planning activities are easier on a larger screen. You also need a smartphone, webcam, or camera capable of recording video to complete the speaking tasks as designed.
A phone can be used for many lessons and for recording, but it is not the best primary device. Workbooks, planning tools, longer writing tasks, and side-by-side review are more comfortable on a tablet or computer.
Many tools allow you to export work you create, such as eligible journal entries, assessment results, scripts, plans, and certain worksheets. Course videos, digital workbooks, proprietary templates, decks, and other protected curriculum materials may not be downloaded, copied, or distributed unless the platform expressly provides a download option.
Access to the course platform, videos, workbooks, and interactive tools ends 12 months after activation. Before that date, export any eligible work you want to retain. Authorized exports you created remain yours to use. Renewal or extension options may be offered, but they are not guaranteed unless stated in your purchase.
No. Enrollment is a one-time purchase and does not renew automatically. If you choose an installment plan, it divides the purchase price into scheduled payments; it does not convert the program into a cancel-anytime subscription.
Not simply because you stop using the program. The full program is made available when access begins, and an installment plan is a payment arrangement for that purchase. The entire disclosed balance remains due unless a refund is approved under the applicable policy or the law requires otherwise.
No. Message & Method is an educational public-speaking program, not medical care, psychotherapy, or treatment for an anxiety disorder. If speaking causes severe anxiety, panic, or significant distress, consider consulting a qualified healthcare professional. You may still find the educational material useful, but it is not a substitute for care.
The program is presented in American English and reflects primarily American and broader Western professional and cultural contexts. Many principles are widely applicable, but expectations involving hierarchy, persuasion, directness, body language, humor, and audience interaction vary across cultures. Learners should adapt the methods thoughtfully to their own audiences.
Weekly time varies based on the lesson, the depth of your practice, and whether you repeat or revise speaking tasks. The recommended Learning Plan normally schedules activity on three or four days each week. Some lessons are brief, while speech development, recording, review, and reflection require more time.
You may adjust the pace within your 12-month access period. A single weekly hour estimate would not accurately describe every learner or stage of the program.
Guided Cohorts
A Guided Cohort combines the complete Self-Directed Program with eight scheduled live sessions for practice, coaching, discussion, and accountability. Participants complete the curriculum through the course platform and use the live sessions to apply it.
Each participant delivers a short baseline talk, receives two substantial coached speaking turns during the developmental sessions, and presents a final capstone. Participants also learn by observing other speakers and giving structured peer feedback. Selected independently completed speaking tasks may be submitted for focused between-session review.
Yes. Unless an offer is clearly labeled otherwise, Peter leads the cohort personally. A qualified guest coach may occasionally participate. If another coach will serve as the primary leader, that will be disclosed before enrollment.
A cohort is best for someone who wants the completeness of the full program and learns better with deadlines, live practice, personal feedback, and a small group. It also suits learners who value seeing other speakers work through similar challenges.
Each Guided Cohort is limited to eight participants. This allows every member to receive scheduled speaking opportunities, individual coaching, and substantive feedback while still benefiting from observing a range of other speakers.
Each participant has four scheduled live speaking opportunities: a short baseline talk, two substantial coached practice turns, and a capstone presentation. Additional opportunities may be available when cohort size and session time permit, but they are not guaranteed.
The curriculum includes seven speaking tasks in total. Tasks that are not scheduled for live delivery are completed independently through the course platform, with structured self-review and the included opportunities for focused between-session feedback.
No. After every participant gives a short baseline talk in the opening session, substantial speaking turns follow a published rotation. Each participant receives two coached practice turns during the developmental sessions and presents a capstone during one of the final sessions.
Participants remain actively involved when they are not the scheduled speaker by observing, applying the program’s feedback methods, and contributing substantive peer feedback.
The core curriculum is the same and is available through the course platform. The cohort adds a schedule, live practice, coaching, feedback, peer learning, and accountability. Peter may adjust examples, assignments, or session emphasis in response to the needs of a particular group.
Yes. Participants may submit brief questions about the curriculum, assigned practice, or preparation through the private cohort support channel. Peter ordinarily responds within two business days, Monday through Friday.
Each participant may also submit up to two speaking-task recordings for focused asynchronous review during the cohort. Each included review covers up to five minutes of material, and the participant should identify the specific portion, questions, or areas on which feedback is requested. These reviews do not include additional calls, repeated revisions, or unlimited document and video review.
Individual make-up sessions are not included. You may review the cohort recording and continue with the assigned work. On rare occasions, a session may be rescheduled if the entire cohort agrees and scheduling permits; an individual absence does not require the group to reschedule.
Message & Method ordinarily records live cohort sessions and may make the recordings available to enrolled participants until 30 days after the final scheduled session. Recordings are a supplemental feature and are not guaranteed. A recording may be missing, incomplete, delayed, removed, or unavailable because of technical, privacy, storage, or other circumstances.
Participants may not download, copy, screen-record, transcribe, share, post, or redistribute cohort recordings. Public, promotional, or testimonial use of a participant’s name, image, voice, presentation, or recording requires separate permission.
All participants agree to respect the privacy of other members and not disclose personal stories, feedback, employer information, presentations, or recordings outside the group. However, no group environment can guarantee that another participant will honor an obligation. Do not share trade secrets, regulated data, or information you are not authorized to disclose.
You need a reliable internet connection, a current browser, and a device that supports two-way video and audio. Join from a quiet, appropriately lit location where you can speak and participate. A computer or tablet is strongly preferred to a phone.
When a cohort is open, begin with the application or reservation process shown on the cohort page. Accepted participants may place a refundable $150 reservation deposit to hold a provisional place. The deposit alone does not activate course or cohort access.
After the cohort is confirmed, depositors receive a private enrollment checkout showing the final schedule, total price, deposit credit, remaining payment options, and applicable terms. Enrollment becomes confirmed when that checkout is completed. Course and cohort onboarding access ordinarily begins after confirmed enrollment and before the first live session.
If Message & Method postpones a cohort materially, you will be offered the revised schedule and any available transfer options. If the cohort is cancelled, cohort payments will be refunded or, at your choice, credited to an available alternative. Incidental costs and consequential losses are not reimbursed to the extent permitted by law.
Enrollment is personal and may not be transferred without written approval. A replacement participant may be considered before the cohort begins if the person is a suitable fit, accepts the terms, and the change does not disrupt the group.
Participants must engage professionally, protect the privacy of the group, follow reasonable session instructions, and avoid harassment, discrimination, threats, recording outside the authorized system, or disruption. A serious or repeated violation may result in removal under the Cohort Participation Terms.
Yes. The $150 reservation deposit is refundable until you complete the separate cohort enrollment checkout. It provisionally holds a place but does not activate course access or authorize the remaining cohort price to be charged automatically.
After the cohort is confirmed, the deposit is credited toward the total purchase price. If you do not complete enrollment by the stated deadline, Message & Method may release the place and refund the deposit to the original payment method.
Private Coaching
Private Coaching is a customized one-on-one engagement with Peter. It normally includes access to the complete Message & Method program, scheduled coaching sessions, individualized practice and feedback, and a plan tailored to your goals. The exact scope, schedule, deliverables, and between-session support are defined in a written proposal or coaching agreement.
Private Coaching is designed for people who want focused attention, candid feedback, and a plan built around their own skills and circumstances. It is especially useful for leaders, executives, founders, subject-matter experts, and professionals preparing for an important keynote, pitch, presentation, interview, media appearance, or period of increased visibility.
Yes. An engagement may focus on a specific high-stakes event or use that event as the practical context for broader skill development. The schedule must allow enough time for strategy, development, rehearsal, and revision; coaching cannot guarantee acceptance, funding, sales, promotion, audience response, or any other external result.
No. It can accelerate development at many experience levels. It is most valuable when you have a meaningful goal, are willing to practice, and want direct feedback—not only when you are already an accomplished speaker.
The curriculum provides a complete foundation, but the sequence, emphasis, assignments, examples, and practice may be adjusted based on your experience, speaking context, goals, and available time. Any material change to the standard scope will be documented in the written coaching plan or agreement.
Reasonable between-session support may be included during the active engagement. The coaching agreement will define the channel, normal response window, and amount of script, document, or video review. Between-session access is not unlimited, immediate, emergency, or on-demand unless the agreement expressly says otherwise.
Coaching can include strategy, structure, editing, rehearsal, and detailed feedback. Full speechwriting, slide design, research, or production work is a separate service unless expressly included in the proposal. You remain responsible for the truth, authorization, originality, and final use of your content.
Peter will treat non-public coaching information as confidential and use it only to provide and administer the engagement, subject to the Privacy Policy, service providers, legal obligations, and safety concerns. If you need a mutual nondisclosure agreement or special data-handling terms, raise that before sharing sensitive material. Do not send trade secrets, regulated data, or third-party confidential information until the arrangement permits it.
Yes. Peter is based in Western New York State. If you are local to the area, in-person—or a mix of virtual and in-person sessions—may be considered. If you are not located in another area, in-person sessions can still be considered, but will implicate travel fees.
Yes. An organization may contract and pay for coaching. Before work begins, the written agreement will identify the client and participant, what progress or attendance information may be shared with the sponsor, who owns any commissioned deliverables, and what coaching content remains confidential.
If the engagement appears to be a good fit, you will receive a written proposal or agreement describing scope, schedule, fees, payment timing, support, cancellation terms, and any special deliverables. Coaching begins only after the agreement is accepted and required payment is received.
Rescheduling is not guaranteed. Please request a change as soon as practical. Requests are considered in good faith but remain subject to availability and the needs of the engagement. If another workable time cannot be accommodated, the session is treated as used. If Message & Method cancels a session, it will be rescheduled without reducing the purchased coaching time.
The coaching schedule is customized and agreed at the beginning of the engagement. Sessions are expected to occur on that calendar. Changes may be considered in good faith, but an engagement does not create an indefinite right to schedule unused sessions at a later time.
Private Coaching is non-refundable except where the signed agreement expressly states otherwise, Message & Method cannot deliver a material undelivered portion, or applicable law requires a remedy. Time already delivered, preparation performed, and services reserved for the client remain non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.
No particular result is guaranteed. Coaching provides expertise, feedback, practice, and a structured improvement process. Your outcomes will depend on your participation, decisions, preparation, practice, circumstances, and factors outside either party’s control.
Private Coaching starts at $8,000. The standard starting framework includes eight 60-minute one-to-one coaching sessions, 12 months of access to the complete Self-Directed Program, individualized assignments and feedback, and reasonable between-session support through the designated support channel.
Each engagement is individually scoped. The accepted proposal defines the actual schedule, engagement period, support level, reviews, deliverables, format, travel requirements, and fees. Speechwriting, research, slide design, production, extensive review, rush work, travel, and other specialized services are included only when expressly stated.
Organizational Training
The right option depends on how many people you want to support, the depth of development you want, and the amount of live practice and individual attention required. Named Self-Directed Program enrollments offer flexible individual development. A private organizational Guided Cohort gives a small group a shared schedule, live practice, and coaching. Employer-sponsored Private Coaching provides the highest degree of individual attention. Keynotes, workshops, and intensives provide focused learning for a team, meeting, or event. A consultation can help identify the most appropriate format or combination.
Yes. Organizations may purchase named Self-Directed Program enrollments for selected employees. Each enrollment is personal to one participant and is not a shared or concurrent-use license. The proposal will define the number of enrollments, participant-identification process, activation schedule, access period, pricing, payment terms, and any permitted replacement or reassignment rights.
Yes. A private organizational Guided Cohort brings a small group of colleagues through the established Guided Cohort experience with a shared schedule, live speaking opportunities, direct coaching, and a private group environment. Organizational context, examples, and selected exercises may be aligned with your team while the core Message & Method framework remains intact. A standard private cohort is limited to eight participants unless the proposal states otherwise. Larger groups may require multiple cohorts or a different format.
Yes. An organization may sponsor Private Coaching for one or more employees. Each participant normally has a separately scoped coaching relationship even when several engagements appear in one organizational proposal. Before work begins, the agreement will identify the contracting client, each participant, included services, payment responsibility, and what administrative or progress information may be shared. Sponsorship does not automatically give the organization access to private coaching discussions, assessments, drafts, recordings, or individual feedback.
Organizational engagements may include keynotes, conference sessions, workshops, multi-session programs, or intensives. A keynote introduces a focused idea and shared language to a larger audience. Workshops and intensives allow more time for application, practice, feedback, and revision. Available formats, duration, participant capacity, and included services are determined through the proposal process.
Depending on the selected format, learning objectives, topic emphasis, examples, speaking scenarios, exercises, organizational materials, participation model, schedule, and follow-up may be tailored. Every engagement remains grounded in the Message & Method framework and a defined written scope. Customization makes the work relevant to the organization; it does not automatically include development of an unrelated training program or services beyond the time and fee stated in the proposal.
Capacity depends on the format and the level of participation you want. Named Self-Directed Program enrollments can support any agreed number of employees working independently. A standard private Guided Cohort is limited to eight participants unless the proposal states otherwise. Workshops and intensives are sized according to the amount of discussion, practice, and individual feedback included. Keynotes and conference sessions can accommodate larger audiences but do not provide the same degree of individual participation. The proposal will identify the recommended audience size and participation model.
Yes. Many organizational offerings may be delivered virtually, in person, or through a blended format, depending on the objectives, location, audience size, schedule, and program design. The proposal will identify the delivery method, technology or room requirements, travel-related charges, and responsibilities assigned to the organization.
Potentially, yes. Authorized speeches, presentation decks, templates, recordings, briefs, and representative scenarios can make the work more relevant and practical. Their use must be included in the agreed scope, appropriate for the learning environment, and supported by any necessary permissions. The organization remains responsible for its authority to provide the materials. Do not provide trade secrets, regulated data, protected personal information, or third-party confidential material unless the written agreement and applicable safeguards expressly permit it.
The proposal or agreement will define what attendance, completion, participation, or progress information may be shared with the organizational sponsor. Purchasing an engagement does not automatically give an employer access to private assessments, journal responses, recordings, coaching conversations, drafts, or individual feedback. Sponsor reporting, confidentiality expectations, and any authorized exceptions will be established before participants begin.
Pricing depends on the selected format, participant count, duration, preparation and adaptation, facilitation, individual review, delivery method, travel, materials, administrative requirements, and contractual obligations. After consultation, the organization will receive a written proposal describing the scope, schedule, deliverables, responsibilities, fees, payment terms, and applicable expenses. Any volume or combined-program pricing will be stated in the proposal and is not automatic.
Message & Method can review reasonable organizational requirements involving proposals, purchase orders, invoicing, vendor onboarding, insurance documentation, confidentiality, accessibility, security review, data-processing terms, and contracting. Requirements should be raised early because they may affect feasibility, timing, scope, systems, or price. Participation in a consultation or procurement process does not constitute acceptance of every requested term, platform, security requirement, indemnification obligation, or payment condition.
You will be asked about your organization, intended participants, speaking needs, objectives, preferred timing, location or delivery method, and any procurement requirements. If Message & Method appears to be a suitable fit, Peter will recommend an appropriate format or combination of services. You will then receive a written proposal defining the scope, schedule, participants, materials, deliverables, responsibilities, fees, payment terms, travel, cancellation terms, and any special requirements. No engagement begins until the applicable agreement is accepted and the required payment or deposit is received.
